In the 2024 Gremmy Awards I gave Mick a made-up "Best False Dick Dale" award for his song "Seashore", and that album in general showed a very strong sense of compelling surf tone. Two years later we have another surf record, which is notable because his first record was not! But in a short time of being a surf musician, Mick has covered a lot of ground, and Nightmare Twang is a savage statement of surf sound.

This is a category for things that don't fit into other categories or that I feel need to be mentioned as notes about the year. Some of these show up year-to-year, some don't. It's freeform!

It's May and not only have I not finished the Gremmy awards, but I've barely written anything about the slew of remarkable surf releases. So since it's Bandcamp Friday, which is when Bandcamp doesn't take a cut of sales, let me tear through them and give each of these fewer words than they deserve.

Apparently there won't be another Bandcamp Friday until September! So I guess I better get back to just reviewing stuff normally. I've wanted to do that anyway.
